Expect chaos! This Kind of Thing invites you to participate in a live playtesting of the new project from Sam Gregson (CERN) & Henry Smith (Spaceteam). The Large Hadron Collider is the largest, erful machine in the world, but could you run it yourself? In this mass multi-player game, you will become CERN scientists and be tasked with keeping the behemoth that is the LHC running for as efficiently and for as long as possible.You will need to communicate, collaborate, delegate and work together.
You’ll get even more out of it, if you download the app in advance, coming shortly on iOS and Android. This show is playable! You don’t have to, but you’ll get the most out of This kind of Thing if you bring along a smartphone. This first event is programmed to tie-in with the Japan season at BFI Southbank. It pays extra-special attention to the audience, who can interact and input into the show using the special app before, during and after the show - helping to shape what it is. The evening runs from 4:00pm until late and features a carefully programmed mix of presentations, music, panels, playable prototypes and special guests. Part magazine show, part night-out, part experimental laboratory - it’s an event you can play. This Kind of Thing is a new event series that explores everything that videogames could be.
